    From [en], from [en], from [en], [odt], from [en], [gem-pro], from [en], [ine-pro]. Cognate with [nl] dialectal [nl], [nds], [nds], [nds], [sv], [da], [nb], [ga], [la], [lv], [grc]. Related to beak.

    This is one of the very few English words that begin with a [en] and come from Proto-Germanic. Proto-Germanic [gem-pro], when not in a consonant cluster beginning with [gem-pro], developed by 吴语: Grimm's law from the Proto-Indo-European consonant [ine-pro], which was very rare.
