The contraction _I'm_ is not used when the word [en] would act as an auxiliary (and fall at the end of a clause). For example, in response to the question _"Are you okay?"_, the reply _"Yes, I'm okay"_ is widely used, while _"Yes, I'm"_ (as a complete sentence) or even _"Yes, I'm, but..."_ are never used, and would always be said as _"Yes, I am"_ or _"Yes, I am, but..."_ respectively.
